What is the minimum useful shop labeling system?
At minimum, preserve project, part or material identity, revision, quantity or size, status, and destination.
When does an offcut become inventory?
When another person can find it, identify its material and usable size, confirm its condition, and reserve it reliably.
Why separate held and rejected work?
A hold may return after a decision; rejected work needs a documented disposition and must not silently mix with accepted production.
