Plywood Core Selection by Cabinet Part
Plywood core selection should follow the part's job rather than a single rule for the whole cabinet. A visible shelf edge, painted door, long cabinet side, drawer bottom, back, and shop jig can value flatness, weight, edge appearance, machining, fastener holding, finish consistency, and price differently. Supplier product data and a physical sample belong in the decision.

Group parts by visibility, load, span, edge exposure, machining, hardware, finish, and replacement risk. Cabinet sides and shelves may need a different balance from backs or drawer bottoms.
