Plywood Thickness Tolerance in Cabinet Layouts
Nominal plywood thickness is a purchasing label; cabinet geometry often depends on the actual material in the shop. A small difference can accumulate across two sides, dividers, dados, drawer openings, backs, and hardware clearances. Measuring the real batch and showing where thickness enters the dimension chain prevents improvised corrections during assembly. Measure a representative batch

Assign material codes that preserve product, batch, thickness, and finish. Avoid mixing pieces from different groups in one cabinet when the variation would affect joints or reveals. Retain a labeled sample or measurement record for the approved setup when repeat orders are likely.
